Monochord and Sound Swing
The origin of the Monochord (mono = one, chord = string) as a one-stringed instrument dates back to the acient world of Pythagoras who was studying harmonics. Since then, the monochord as a one or poly-stringed instrument was developed further in cultures in Vietnam, Japan or Mongolia. During the European middle ages people continued to experiment with monochords but since the 1980s they are mainly used as a musical instrument and for soundhealing. The hanging sound swing is a development and reinvention of the Klangraum Witzenhausen (Germany) under the direction of Johannes Baehr, which promises a special kind of sound experience.
Monochords are especially overtone-rich instruments. Although all the strings are tuned to the same tone, the harmonics unfold in veritable melodies. They are ideal for deep relaxation, to harmonize the energy field of the body and as a therapy assistance.
The soundhealing massage is a fast instrument to dive into a state of deep relaxation. In this "alpha state" the sound massage initiates and supports deep healing processes so that harmony and peace can arise in the human system.
It has now been scientifically proven that much of the mental and physical illness nowadays is how we handle stress, check this new perspective about stress in this Ted Talk in my blog.
